RKB Digital Media is owned and operated by Kris Broughton. Based out of Alpharetta Georgia, the company will focus initially on obtaining nationwide distribution for opinion columns written by Kris Broughton. Other writers may be added in the future.

Since we only represent one author right now, we'll focus specifically on him in answering this question. Kris Broughton maintains a nationally recognized blog,
Brown Man Thinking Hard with original, in-depth articles five to seven days a week. His blog includes the same type of social and political commentary that his columns will focus on. Mr. Broughton is also an accomplished writer of short fiction, with several publications to his credit.
Any other writers RKB Digital Media decides to represent in the future will also have a track record that shows they can deliver high quality writing week in and week out.

Any good columnist keeps a couple of pieces in reserve, and always has several that are in various states of construction at any given time, so delivery should not be a problem - the contract address the worst case scenario, in case of an accident or serious illness that renders Mr. Broughton or any future writers incapacitated for a week or two.
Mr. Broughton intends to deliver one column a week. There will be some weeks when political or social circumstances will warrant two columns.
If your organization publishes one column a week, you are looking at a cost of $6.25 per column.

Right now, they will be delivered electronically on Mondays or Tuesdays. If there are other specific delivery days and/or times that your internal deadlines require, we are pretty flexible, and should be able to accommodate your needs.

They will be delivered by email to the appropriate person or department for now, in any readily available format (.doc, .rtf, .txt, .htm) you request. We are investigating content management systems currently to see if there is any advantage to using one. We are also investigating providing a subscriber-only RSS feed. If you have any suggestions to improve the ease of delivery, shoot us an email.

No. Mr. Broughton will provide you and other subscribers with original, first run material with a word count of approximately 500 to 800 words. He will continue to maintain his blog with shorter, more interactive posts that may touch on similar topics but in a different context than the one you recieve. He will refer his readers to your publications to read his columns, most likely by maintaining a "list of publications" similar to the one he currently displays that spotlight his syndicated blog posts.

The first thing you need to do is click the "Download Subscription Agreement" link on our "Properties" web page and print out the PDF file that contains the agreement. It looks longer than it really is - the good thing about a contract is it spells out the details in our business relationship.
Once the appropriate party has reviewed the contract, signed it and dated it, then fax it to us at (928) 569 - 1408.
The second thing you need to do is click the "SUBSCRIBE" button on our "Properties" web page. This is connected to Paypal, one of the largest and most secure third party online payment companies in the world. It will prompt you to provide your credit card information and acknowledge that your card will be automatically billed once a month. Paypal accepts VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. It also accepts checks.
Within 24 to 48 hours you should receive an email from RKB Digital Media that will request some basic information to get your publication set up on our distribution list, and notify you of when the next new column is expected.

It seemed long to me too - I immediately thought about those vile cell phone contracts. But this has no surrender fees, no buyout fees, no early termination charges - none of that kind of stuff. If you try it out for awhile and it doesn't do anything for your readers, just shoot me an email to give 30 days notice.
